Training

At T.H.E. Center, we have a special interest in reaching adolescent girls due to the prevalence of eating disorders among this population. A majority of eating disorders develop during puberty, and we believe that empowering girls to make healthy choices for themselves is essential for ending that trend. With that goal in mind, we sponsor trainings in Full of Ourselves, a wellness program meant to develop self-esteem, healthier eating and exercise habits, and leadership and media literacy skills among middle school girls.

The Full of Ourselves program has been successfully implemented by all kinds of organizations, including schools, after-school programs, town libraries, summer camps, churches and synagogues. All that's needed is a supportive community and one or two committed adult women to facilitate group sessions over 2-4 months.

We provide the training and support needed for your group to begin this wonderful program.

A research-based, thorough-yet-flexible curriculum makes Full of Ourselves very user-friendly. The concepts are preventative with great follow-up activities for the girls to take home and review with a parent(s). Our girls walked away with a deeper sense of self-awareness and as a result, were more intentional to avoid judgmental comments towards peers. Having girls only was a real confidence boost, a kind of "we're in this together"camaraderie! Not only empowering but also freeing! Thanks!!!
